From 14th to 15th August senior researchers Jānis Rubulis from WRL and Arnis Lektauers from the Department of Modeling and Simulation of the Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology attended the NOAH project partner consortium meeting in Tallinn. The NOAH team is focused on the extreme weather layer creation on the top of the general urban plan that will be used by city planners to derive specific measures for each planning in order to minimize the impact of the flood. In the NOAH consortium, there are 6 cities (Pori, Haapsalu, Rakvere, Liepaja, Jurmala and Ogre) and 3 academies (Satakunta University of Applied Sciences, Riga Technical University (RTU) and as a leader is Tallinn University of Technology). The RTU team also includes experts from the Department of Geomatics and cooperates with the Latvian State Enterprise «Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Center».
